Greater Flexibility, More Security

Once you install Sage BusinessWorks 2011, you’ll be pleasantly surprised with the overall experience. For starters, Sage BusinessWorks is now compatible with the new 64-bit operating systems, which are standard on the latest PCs. This allows you to take advantage of various options for improved speed and performance.

Setting up new users is easier than ever. Thanks to a new option in the setup process for new users, the administrator now has the option to default new users to all access or no access to the system, saving time and reducing the likelihood of a security breach.

Want to improve employee satisfaction? The expanded direct deposit distributions capability allows employees to choose to distribute direct deposit payroll wages to an unlimited number of bank accounts.

Faster Data Access

We’ve made it so you can view more bank deposit or reconciliation transactions without scrolling, since the screen size and resolution change based on the number of transactions in the list. You don’t need to reposition the screens, because they are displayed higher on your monitor, too.

If you’re looking for a purchase order, you can find any purchase order more quickly by typing the PO number in the new Quick Find field on Maintain Purchase Orders and Purchase Order Inquiry.

Set aside your calculator. Manual calculations are virtually eliminated with the addition of new totals and subtotals to the Payroll Tax Deposits screen. Now, your total tax liability for OASDI, Medicare, and SUI taxes automatically appear. This saves time and reduces the potential for errors when electronically filing tax payments.

Intuitive Search and Navigation

Navigation is easier, too. Thanks to the ability to undock panels from the left pane of the launcher, you can access shortcuts, startups, and modules using only the Button Bar. And you can move the panes wherever you like on the desktop.

Sage BusinessWorks 2011 lets you search for employees by the last four digits of their social security numbers. Then, add them to. Custom Reports, Custom Exports, and Crystal Reports® while still protecting sensitive employee information. And a new filter option in the State Tax Report lets you exclude employees with no year-to-date activity. This eliminates the need to print pages of terminated or inactive employees.

A new Print Pick Ticket button lets you print pick tickets from the Maintain Sales Orders screen, eliminating the need to navigate to the Print Pick Ticket task and automatically populating the setup screen with your order information.

Seamless Posting, Reporting, and Invoicing

The redesigned Post Receipts Interface in Sage BusinessWorks 2011 allows you to post receipts with fewer mouse clicks. From a single screen, you can select invoices to pay from a populated list and even select multiple invoices for swift distribution of payments.

In addition, thanks to a New button on the User Reports Manager, you can simply select a standard report to use as a template to create a new report. Click the New button to get a blank design screen, with tables and links prepopulated based on the report you select. This eliminates the necessity to first delete fields from the report.

Got recurring invoices? You don’t need to print and mail anymore. A new email button added to the Print Recurring Invoices task lets you email recurring invoices directly to the customer email addresses you have on file, using the electronic forms manager.

Got late-paying customers? Rather than run a report, in Maintain Sales Orders, you’ll get a warning message or optional restriction on order entry when a customer has one or more past-due invoices.

Further, if your Business Partner creates customized reports for you, the new Import/Export New Reports feature lets you import a report created in a remote location, and copy to a CD or thumb drive, or attach to an email.
